This drawing of “Greenstone Double Koru” was originally created with ecoline (liquid watercolour) and watercolour pencils. The koru is a Maori symbol that originates from New Zealand. The symbol is often used in traditional carved greenstone or whale bone jewellery. The Koru is a spiral symbol which echoes the fern frond. It represents new life, new beginnings, positive change and peace. It is is also a symbol associated with the affection between parent and child or husband and wife. The double koru is a variation of the design which has two spiral shapes instead of just one.
Please be aware that actual colours may look different than on your screen display.
