Let this bookmark divinely mark where you’re up to in your book. Perfect for a book about mythology, a historical novel, or just the book that has you enchanted at the moment.
The bookmark has full colour printing on both sides. The front side shows the god Osiris with a small figure of the Shiva aspect Pashupati, a bull’s head with grapes and a sated goat. The back is an inky background pattern of stylised Egyptian papyrus flowers and also lists details about the piece and the artist. The bookmark has been printed on 300gr card and is approximately 54 x 173mm in size.
The original illustration “Horned Gods” was created in 2014 by Imogen Smid using Ecoline (liquid watercolour) and Indian Ink. It was inspired by the use of Horned Gods as Fertility symbols throughout different cultures. The Gods included in this piece are Osiris (green faced Egyptian God), Pashupati (the small figure held in Osiris’ hand), Pan (the goat at the bottom) and Dionysus (the bull and grapes at the top). The full illustration also had attributes of Celtic Horned God Cernunnos. The illustration was created to accompany a blog post I wrote: “Fertility in the form of Horned Gods“.
Each bookmark is wrapped in cellophane to protect in from the elements during transit. It will be posted in a sturdy card envelope or in a card box if sent together with other bulkier item.
